Bone Grafting

A dental bone graft is an oral dental surgical procedure which is used when it's necessary to correct a defect or deficiency in the bone structure involved in supporting teeth or tooth implants.

The procedure uses the patient's own bone or a bone substitute (such as human or animal bone from bone and tissue banks, or synthetic materials) to build up the area where the bone is deteriorated.

Where teeth exist, a dental bone graft procedure may be done to help the existing teeth position and integrate correctly; where teeth are missing, a dental bone graft procedure may need to be done for a tooth implant to hold correctly.
